Montval Acrylic Paper is a heavyweight, textured paper that is internally and externally gelatin sized. It provides the artist with a cold pressed surface suitable for a wide variety of painting and drawing techniques. Ideal for acrylic paint and wet techniques! When acrylics are used as a thick paste, characteristics similar to oil paint can be achieved on this paper. When diluted to a wash, the gelatin-sized paper features qualities of a cold pressed watercolor paper. With an application of gesso, the paper can be used for oil paintings. 148 lbs (400 gsm) and quite stiff. This is not the same 'coated' paper that you get in the pads, this paper is more like a heavy-weight watercolor paper. Acid-free.
